IRAKLI PARJIANI

Irakli Parjiani (ირაკლი ფარჯიანი - born 1950, Mestia - died 1991, Tbilisi) was a famous painter and graphic artist. He was an important representative of Georgian art of the 20th century, and studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (1968-1974). He was the laureate of the State Prize of Georgia (1992) and the Pirosmani Award (1996). At various times exhibitions of his works have been held in Tbilisi, Palermo, Moscow, Berlin, Barcelona, ​​Paris, Rome, Dornach (Goetheanum), among other locations. Irakli Parjiani's style is an interesting example of the interaction of tradition and individuality. The main theme of his work is the gospel. Despite the thematic and genre diversity, Irakli Parjiani's work is recognizable and unique at first glance.
