ATINATI’s Cultural Center continues its ATINATI Talks series. This time, within the framework of Rusudan Gachechiladze’s exhibition, ATINATI Talks will focus on the main topic: “The History of the Development of Georgian Sculpture.”
The aim of the ATINATI Talks series is to highlight and discuss important topics from the history and contemporary scene of Georgian art, while actively engaging students and individuals interested in art. This initiative is dedicated to the development and promotion of the contemporary art scene.
Speakers, Art Historians:
Tamta Shavgulidze – The History of the Development of Georgian Sculpture
Tamar Belashvili – Ideology, Artistic Transformation and Reflection (Selected Periods from the History of Georgian Sculpture)
Maia Chikvaidze – Active Form: The Sculptures of Rusudan Gachechiladze (Sculpture as an Active Form, the Experience of Fascination with Form, Vital Sculptures, and the Importance of Institutional Care)
ATINATI Talks will be interactive, and at the end of the meeting the audience will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the art historians.
Currently on view at the ATINATI’s Cultural Center is an exhibition dedicated to the Georgian sculptor, educator, and reformer of Georgian portrait sculpture — Rusudan Gachechiladze.
This exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Rusudan Gachechiladze and serves as a symbolic farewell to the sculptor; however, her work and name will continue to live forever in the history of Georgian art.
The exhibition brings together sculptures and graphic works created by the artist. It will also feature a video projection presenting an extensive film about the artist produced by the media platform ATINATI. The exhibition allows visitors to experience the full range of the artist’s creative practice within a single space — from early sculptural portraits to explorations of modernist forms, which emerge prominently in her later graphic series.
