Zuriko’s Kalanda- A short film, made by Giorgi Kekelidze and Natela Grigalashvili specially for ATINATI

This is a short film-sketch about the countryside and a man: a film about expecting the New Year and the preparations of the New Year’s eve. The so called “old” New Year, i.e. Kalanda is celebrated in a special way in Guria, that’s why it might have a carnival colouring for outsiders, but authors attempted to show the genuine Kalanda by demonstrating Zuriko’s one day - full of routine mediocrity, misery and sorrow on the one hand and humour and songs, on the other, which, probably, is the best Gurian recipe for overcoming these hardships.
